Get the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 (Required by Robo Blather)

Robo Blather is a text-to-speech application. It uses the built-in speech synthesis power of the .NET Framework 3.0 to generate speech from whatever text you paste into the edit window. You can control the speed of the voice, render the output to a .wav file, and select any of the installed voices on your machine. Different machines will have different voices available. On our development machines, these are the voices that were available:

Windows XP	Windows Vista	Windows 8	Windows 10

The list of available voices will vary based on the software you have installed on your system, but with the .NET framework installed you should have one or more voices.

When rendering speech to a .wav file, you will probably have to close Robo Blather before you can play the generated file. It seems to be one of the quirks of the speech synthesizer that it doesn't close a file when audio is rendered (because it expects to keep saying things).

Robo Blather is freeware and may be distributed freely.

• Changed interface to plain Windows colors. Not that many people enjoyed the yellow text on a black background, but if you prefer it, you can still download version 1.1 of Robo Blather.

• Text box now resizes with dialog when you drag to change the window size.
• Text box now accept multi-line text input.
• Added browse button for output .wav file name.
• Now shows notification when .wav file generation is finished.
